24H to climb the Piton des Neiges

🏔️ A night expedition to the Piton des Neiges: Immersion in the heights of Reunion Island 🌌

Welcome to this expedition to the heart of Reunion Island, where I climb to its summit: the Piton des Neiges. In this nocturnal expedition, I share with you the wonders of nature and the challenges of altitude.

🌠 Nocturne ascent:

I begin my journey from the plains, by starlight, up the steep slopes of the Piton des Neiges. Darkness envelops me as I make my way along the winding paths.

🌄 Stunning Sunrise:

My goal? To reach the summit before dawn to admire a spectacular sunrise. The sun's rays, filtered through the atmosphere, paint the sky in shades of orange and red, offering a breathtaking panorama of the island.

🌿 Flora diversity:

As I climb the mountain, I discover the richness of Reunion's vegetation. From rainforests to sub-alpine moors, each ecosystem is home to a unique biodiversity, including many endemic species.

🐦 Wildlife Encounters:

The nocturnal fauna reveals itself as I progress. From crickets to endemic birds such as the Merle Peï, every encounter is an invitation to explore the diversity of wildlife.

As well as the adventure, I'm also interested in the science behind altitude and natural phenomena. From experiments on atmospheric pressure to explanations of the colours of a sunrise, every detail is explored and explained.
